I see grillions of yoga photos, people in poses I secretly refer to as notinthislifesana. Twisted, contorted, defying gravity. But never in the pose I find to be the most challenging of them all: Savasana. To just lay there, ugh, not doing anything when there is so much work to be done. It can be excruciating. Painful. Strangely exhausting. Maybe you can stand on your hands or put your feet into places you wouldn't show your Mother. But Savasana - to be still in mind and heart - now THAT is some badass yoga. I am not there yet. But I am patient. So I will twist and contort and push and fly as my lower self moves through poser-yoga, telling my higher self to “shut up, can't you see I am trying to handstand right now!??” But one day! One day I will conquer Savasana. The ultimate goal-pose. The ultimate yoga.
